Breck Central EMS began operations in July of
1999. A private not for profit 501(c)3 charitable
organization, we operate strictly off of the
revenue generated from ambulance runs and
our yearly subscription drive.
Breck Central EMS was formally know as Trent
Dowell Ambulance. Trent Dowell Ambulance
owned by Trent Dowell Funeral Home was one
of the last funeral home based EMS services in
the Commonwealth. Due to the ever increasing
number of runs, the owners decided it would be
best if the licenses were transferred to a non
profit board for better operations. Once Breck
Central EMS formed, it has been governed by
an independent Board of Directors with its
members living in the County.
Breck Central EMS began offering advanced life
support services in 2001. Since then, Breck
Central EMS has seen nothing but growth and
development. From becoming a state certified
EMS teaching facility to a nationally recognized
honor guard we are continuously striving to be
better .
We currently operate out of two stations located
in Hardinsburg and Irvington. Breck Central
EMS utilizes system status management,
based on the number of ambulances available,
we move ambulances to areas where calls are
more likely to come in.
Breck Central EMS is led by EMS Chief Raleigh
Shelton, a paramedic who has been with the
company since its creation. "We take pride in
what we do, our level of care we provide and
continuous implementation of new programs is
a testament to the dedication we have for our
community."
It is the mission of Breck Central EMS by and through its Directors and Employees to provide
quality pre-hospital advanced life support / basic life support care to the citizens and visitors
of Breckinridg County, Kentucky twenty four hours a day seven days a week
